We are pleased to announce the launch of the European Patient Ambassador Programme (EPAP) in German today. The launch coincides with Patient Solidarity Day, which this year has the theme, ‘Globally Empowered Patients: Power through Knowledge’.
EPAP is a free, self-guided e-learning programme introducing the essential skills and knowledge needed for patients and carers to interact with healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers and journalists. It is aimed at people with experience of any condition.
The online programme is structured over eight modules and you can find more details about the content on the website. Those who register and complete modules also have the opportunity to join a Facebook group of EPAP ambassadors.
Over 800 people have already completed the programme, which is available in English, Dutch, French, Italian – and now German.
We are thrilled that people from German-speaking countries will now be able to access EPAP and benefit from the programme. We would especially like to thank our partners, DZL (Deutsches Zentrum für Lungenforschung e.V.) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Pneumologie und Beatmungsmedizin, who have helped us develop and review the German modules, and who will be helping us to promote it over the coming months.
How to register
To register on the German programme, go to the website and click on the Login/Register button. When taken through to the next screen, click on the German flag and follow the instructions to register. Please remember to also select German in the language drop down field.
