On 24 March, 2018, members of the European Patient Ambassador Programme (EPAP) patient advisory group came together in Brussels to exchange ideas and share experiences of healthcare and the role of patient ambassadors in their different countries.

Attendees came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ireland, Spain, Ukraine, the Netherlands and the UK.

Members discussed the changing training needs of patient ambassadors, and, through a review of feedback received from EPAP learners, produced many ideas and suggestions that we will look to prioritise and implement over the coming months to improve the programme.

A participant at the meeting commented: “It was an amazing meeting. I met a lot of people full of positive energy and I learned a lot of new things which can help me in my country.”

EPAP is a free, online programme for individuals with chronic conditions to learn some of the skills and knowledge you may need to represent yourself or others successfully. It is available in English, Dutch, French, Italian and German.
