ELF and the European Respiratory Society (ERS) have been presented with the Incredible Impact Award for the Healthy Lungs for Life campaign. This award celebrates initiatives that leave a lasting legacy.
The award is granted by the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA) and BestCities Global Alliance, and recognises associations who are leading the field in the areas of legacy development, diversity and accessibility.
The Healthy Lungs for Life campaign is now in its sixth year, and has run its flagship event in Munich, Amsterdam, London, Milan, Paris and Madrid, alongside the ERS Congress. The events have engaged huge numbers of local people in learning about lung health, by offering free lung function testing (spirometry) and other interactive activities.
ELF picked up the award virtually, producing a short video to thank the organisers and talk about what HLfL has achieved since 2014.
The Incredible Impact award is linked to a grant of 7,500 US dollars, which will be used to increase the reach of the campaign so that even more people can learn about the importance of keeping lungs healthy.
