Updated European Patient Ambassador Programme to launch on 1 June

We are pleased to announce the launch of the updated European Patient Ambassador Programme on Monday 1 June, 2015.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the updated European Patient Ambassador Programme (EPAP) and the new EPAP website on Monday 1 June, 2015.

EPAP is our free online study programme for all people affected by chronic conditions to gain knowledge and skills to get involved in healthcare.

Following feedback from the first wave of people who completed the course and advice from our Patient Advisory Group, we have made the programme easier to use and we have also designed a new module, “Participating in healthcare conferences”.  We hope the new module will get more people interested in going to conferences to ensure that the patient voice is heard when the future of healthcare is discussed.

Another feature of the EPAP update is that it can now be translated into other languages. We are currently translating the programme into Dutch, with other languages to follow.

EPAP will also sit in a new website, which will give much more information on opportunities for patients to become involved and further resources.

375 people have so far completed the programme. Some of those have since then started using the skills they have learnt in many different ways, such as joining guideline groups and EU projects or speaking at international conferences.
