Wednesday 12 November, 2014 marks the sixth annual World Pneumonia Day.

Pneumonia is the world’s leading infectious cause of death among children under the age of five.

This year, the World Pneumonia Day theme is universal access to pneumonia prevention and care.

As part of the awareness campaign, advocates are calling upon governments to ensure that every child is able to receive treatment for pneumonia and vaccinations against the disease.
