Let’s celebrate together: the JARED project has just reached Deliverable 6.7, a significant step in its mission to combat chronic respiratory diseases across Europe!
We are strengthening respiratory health — one step at a time.
JARED’s Coordination Team is pleased to announce the successful completion of Deliverable 6.7, a comprehensive set of evidence-based patient education materials designed to support self-management for people living with chronic respiratory diseases. This milestone represents an important achievement within Work Package 6 of the Joint Action and provides essential tools to empower patients and support healthcare systems across Europe.
Developed by the Finnish Lung Health Association (FILHA) and project partners, the deliverable includes both a methodological document and a structured patient education package for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The package consists of dedicated leaflets and detailed educational booklets for each condition, designed to help individuals better understand their disease and actively participate in managing their health.
The materials are grounded in internationally recognised clinical guidelines, including those from the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) and the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD), as well as national clinical recommendations. By translating scientific evidence into clear and practical information, the education packages aim to support patients in everyday disease management, treatment adherence, symptom monitoring, and lifestyle adjustments.
A key element of this deliverable is the collaborative development process, documented in detail, which included evidence review, partner involvement, and careful consideration of accessibility and usability. This ensures that the materials are easy to understand and applicable across diverse healthcare settings in Europe.
By improving access to reliable and patient-friendly information, Deliverable 6.7 contributes to JARED’s broader objective of strengthening prevention, management, and long-term care for chronic respiratory diseases across EU Member States.
Through initiatives like this, JARED continues to support healthcare professionals, empower patients, and advance coordinated European action on respiratory health.
