Let’s celebrate together: the JARED project has just reached Deliverable D8.2, a significant step in its mission to combat chronic respiratory diseases across Europe!
We are strengthening respiratory health — one step at a time.
JARED’s Coordination Team is pleased to announce the successful delivery of D8.2, focused on the development of educational video content on COPD and smoking cessation tailored specifically for Roma communities.
This deliverable marks an important step towards reducing health inequalities and improving access to reliable respiratory health information for vulnerable and underserved populations. The educational materials were developed to support awareness, prevention, and self-management of chronic respiratory diseases through accessible and culturally adapted communication approaches.
The report highlights the creation of a package of short educational videos based on the latest evidence and international COPD guidelines. To maximize accessibility, the content was developed in two Roma language varieties — Romani Chib and the Bayash dialect — and presented by native Roma speakers.
A wide range of key topics are covered, including understanding COPD, treatment options, vaccination, spirometry, smoking and e-cigarettes, and the recognition of disease exacerbations.
By developing resources together with language experts, healthcare professionals, and native speakers, JARED is helping to make respiratory health information more inclusive and easier to access for communities that often face significant health disparities.
Deliverable 8.2 demonstrates that improving respiratory health is not only about medical innovation, but also about ensuring that health information reaches everyone. Through these educational resources, JARED is contributing to more equitable, inclusive, and patient-centred respiratory care across Europe.
