The Hungarian partner Országos Korányi Pulmonológiai Intézet (OKPI) visited on 8 June two primary schools in Hungary, as part of the Lung Health for Life project.
Through interactive educational sessions, OKPI engaged 83 pupils, helping to raise awareness of lung health and encourage healthy lifestyle choices from an early age. Beyond the educational activities, pupils were offered spirometry testing, providing a simple introduction to lung health assessment and helping them understand the importance of monitoring their lung health.
The educational programme covered several key topics related to lung health, including:
To encourage active participation, the sessions included interactive demonstrations, educational games and short videos.
The intervention was very well received from both schools. Project partners from Országos Korányi Pulmonológiai Intézet reported a positive experience throughout the implementation process. School staff also provided valuable support, with teachers and pupils actively participating in all activities.
Following the positive outcomes of the initial visits, the programme will continue in September, reaching even more children across Hungary.
