A new paper from the SHARP Clinical Research Collaboration has been accepted for publication in Respiratory Medicine.
Entitled “Mapping EQ-5D-5L utility scores from the severe asthma questionnaire in the SHARP CRC registry”, the study using data of 327 patients from the European SHARP Burden of Asthma study.
The team developed a bridge (known as mapping) between the disease-specific Severe Asthma Questionnaire (SAQ) and the widely used EQ-5D-5L, enabling estimation of generic quality-of-life scores even when EQ-5D data are not collected.
Using data of 327 patients from the European SHARP Burden of Asthma study, the manuscript present initial approaches to generate EQ-5D-5L utilities from SAQ responses, providing estimates of patient well-being that can be used in health-economic evaluations and policy making for severe asthma.
