A look at the first SOLACE Stakeholder Advisory Board

The first SOLACE Stakeholder Advisory Board (SAB) meeting was successfully held on 7 November 2023.

The purpose of the meeting was to give an introductory overview of the project to the Advisory Board members and to discuss their role and contribution to the project.

The Advisory Board consists of 13 members, stakeholders and experts, interested in lung cancer screening. The members were chosen and invited by the SOLACE Management Board and come from the following organisations;

  • European Society of Radiology (ESR)
  • European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS)
  • European Society of Radiotherapy & Oncology (ESTRO)
  • European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI)
  • European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI)
  • Lung Cancer Policy Network
  • European Respiratory Society (ERS)
  • Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE)
  • The International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG)
  • World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA)
  • International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC)
  • Prostate cancer Awareness and Initiative for Screening in the European Union (EAU PRAISE-U)
  • Towards Gastric Cancer Screening Implementation in the European Union (TOGAS)

The members will ensure that all communication and dissemination activities are optimised to maximise project visibility and impact. For this reason, the meeting included a thorough presentation of the deliverables and milestones of WP8, which is responsible for these activities.

The Chairs invited all the members to provide their feedback on the project and on how they see themselves contributing to it. The meeting closed after a fruitful conversation about how to promote the project, how to coordinate activities and working together across different projects, as well as ways to  further involve primary care in the project.
