Lungs Europe is committed to protecting your online privacy. In the scope of the SOLACE website, Lungs Europe is the sole controller of the personal data collected through your navigation on this website.

If you contact the project coordinator EIBIR, in the contact tab, at office@eibir.org, please note that EIBIR will be controller of the data you shared with them as detailed below.

To understand which personal data we collect, how they are processed and for what purposes, please read the following policy. For clarity purposes, “personal data” is understood as any information that identifies you either directly or indirectly – pursuant to Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This policy may change from time to time, please refer to it periodically.

What personal data is collected and for what purpose?

  • Website: when you visit our website, we process personal data such as log files, which record information such as service provider IP addresses, browser brand and version, referring websites, search terms used, average number of requested pages, average visit duration, total visitor traffic and information gathered for aggregate use.
    Lungs Europe uses the information collected about you to improve its understanding of web visitors, and to maintain this website based on our legitimate interest to keep the website safe and properly functioning.

 

  • Contact via email: your contact details such as your name and email, your message(s), and the data and time of your communication. Your data is processed for the communication between you and the SOLACE project, to answer your queries, and handling your requests to exercise one of your data protection rights. We rely on our legitimate interest to communicate with you, on your initiative, for this processing. As stated previously, for emails sent to info@europeanlung.org, Lungs Europe is the controller. However, if you contact office@eibir.org, EIBIR will be sole controller of your personal data.

 

  • Stakeholder Forum newsletter: when you subscribe to our Stakeholder Forum newsletter to keep up to date with the project, we collect your first and last name, email address, and the date and time of your subscription. This processing is based on your consent, as you need to actively click on agreeing to receive information on SOLACE’s updates. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on the link “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the e-mail. The newsletter tool that we use is operated by our subcontractor Mailchimp.

 

  • Social media: your first and last name and/or affiliation in case you contact us via social media, information about your interactions with the content we post. We rely here on our legitimate interest to answer your comments, invitations, and reactions to our content and messages. The social media pages are managed by Lungs Europe.

 

 

For how long do we keep your data ?

We will keep your data solely for 1) the duration necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned processing purposes, 2) the retention period legally required, when applicable, or 3) until you revoke your consent, when applicable.

Once we no longer need your personal data for the previously mentioned purposes, we will delete them unless there is a legal obligation to continue to retain them.

  • Regarding the personal data we process and store when you visit our website, we retain will them for five (5) years after which they will be deleted.
  • Regarding the personal data we process and store when you contact us via the e-mail, we will retain them for as long as there is a communication with you and to keep a record of our communications, but not more than five (5) years and we delete the data afterwards.
  • Regarding the personal data we process and store when you subscribe to the Stakeholder Forum newsletter, we will delete them when you unsubscribe by clicking on the link “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the e-mail. After eighteen (18) months, if you do not open any of our communications, we will remove your data.
  • Regarding the data we process when you interact with us or message us on social media, we do not store your data that would allow for your identification outside of social media. The access to the data which are present in the messages we exchanged with you via social media will be available there as long as SOLACE profile exists.

With whom may Lungs Europe share the information?

Lungs Europe may share your personal data with its subcontractor, Intuit-Mailchimp to provide you with the Stakeholder Forum newsletter. Please note that if you subscribe to the Stakeholder Forum, your personal data will be transferred to the United States, where our subcontractor is based. This subcontractor is part of the EU-US Data Protection Framework, which means that they are self-certified to be compliant with the European requirements of privacy, data protection and security and comply with the GDPR. Unless you consented or required by law, Lungs Europe will not share your personal data with any third parties other than the ones described above.

Your rights

As we process your personal data, you hold rights over them as listed and explained below. To exercise one or several, please contact us at: info@europeanlung.org

  • The right to information: this right allows you to obtain information about whether we hold personal information about you, and, if so, what that information is and why we are holding it.
  • The right to access: you can request a copy of your personal data we hold and process.
  • The right to withdraw consent: this right allows you to revoke your consent, which you have given us to process your personal data for the Stakeholder Forum and optional cookies. Please consider that the withdrawal of your consent should not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your consent before its withdrawal.
  • The right to restrict processing: this right allows you to request that we limit the processing of your personal data, conditions may apply.
  • The right to rectification: you can request the correction of inaccurate personal data we hold on you or complete them if they are incomplete.
  • The right to object: you can object to the processing of your personal data by us, conditions may apply.
  • The right to erasure: you can request that we delete your personal data. Limitations to this right may be in place if the processing was relying on our legitimate interest.
  • The right to data portability: you can request the transfer of the personal data we hold on you to another organization or to yourself, under specific grounds.
  • The right not to be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling: if you consent, this right shall not apply.

If you are not satisfied with our response to your request to exercise one or several of your rights, you can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

 

Cookies

Lungs Europe websites use cookies in order to provide you with a more personalized web experience and allow us to have a functional website. A cookie is a text-only string of information that is created and stored on your computer by your browser. It contains information about your visit that your browser uses to personalize certain pages or elements. For statistical analysis purposes, a cookie may also be used to pass a randomly generated and anonymous unique number to our servers. Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you. We use two types of cookies:

  • Necessary cookies: they are absolutely essential for the website to function properly. This category only includes cookies that ensures basic functionalities and security features of the website. These cookies do not store any personal information.

 

  • Non-necessary cookies: that is, any cookies that may not be particularly necessary for the website to function and is used specifically to collect user personal data via analytics, ads, other embedded contents are termed as non-necessary cookies. We delegated this task to Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to track our website traffic. GA4 collects data such as number of visitors and unique visitors, browser type and operating system (both part of the user metrics) and referral URL, to monitor and optimise the use of our website. These cookies cannot run on your browser without your prior consent. Furthermore, if you consent to these, you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on “Manage your consent” at the bottom right of the page and disable the non-necessary cookies or install a browser add-on called “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” to prevent sharing information with Google Analytics 4 about your activities on our website.
