Exploring developments in lung cancer screening at ECR 2025

The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) will host a session at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) with insights from the SOLACE project.

The session will cover key advancements in lung cancer screening, including:

  • Achievements of the SOLACE project, highlighting progress in European lung cancer screening and pilot trials
  • Digital workflow innovations and lessons from the HANSE trial
  • Updates on pulmonary nodule management from the ESTI position paper
  • The daily routine of radiologists in lung cancer screening programmes, including reporting and quality assurance
  • The impact of lung cancer screening on radiology workload, based on findings from a SOLACE survey
  • Training programmes and the role of the European Lung Cancer Screening Alliance

The session will conclude with a panel discussion on the role of artificial intelligence in lung cancer screening, examining current applications and future potential.
