SOLACE at ECR 2026: Ensuring continuity and impact
At the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2026, SOLACE consortium members Prof. Marie-Pierre Revel and Prof. Helmut Prosch sat down to discuss the European Lung Cancer Screening Alliance (ELCSA) and how it will carry forward the work of SOLACE.
In the interview, they reflect on what SOLACE achieved across its three pilot programmes, why no single approach to recruitment works for every country and how ELCSA will support Member States at different stages of implementing lung cancer screening. They also discuss the role of multidisciplinary collaboration, the potential of AI in screening and the long-term goal: a stage shift in lung cancer diagnosis across Europe.
A key message from the discussion is that countries looking to implement lung cancer screening do not have to start from scratch. The experience, tools and guidelines developed through SOLACE are available and can be adapted to local needs.
