The Healthy Lungs for Life grants programmes

About the grants

The European Lung Foundation (ELF) offers grants to support organisers of lung health awareness events that align with the Healthy Lungs for Life campaign.

The Healthy Lungs for Life campaign works to:

  • Raise awareness of lung health across all life stages
  • Empower individuals and communities to protect their lungs
  • Influence policy and practice to reduce the global burden of lung disease.

The campaign focuses on prevention, early intervention and education to help ensure healthier lungs for everyone.

We are particularly committed to supporting projects aimed at children and young people, recognising that building healthy habits early in life is essential for achieving positive long-term lung health outcomes.

Grant opportunities

In 2026, two grant programmes are available:

Healthy Lungs for Life grants

The Healthy Lungs for Life grants support organisations and community groups around the world to deliver activities that raise awareness of lung health and inspire action within local communities. This programme has now closed for 2026.

Clean Air Action grants

Local organisations across Europe can now apply for Clean Air Action grants. Funding is currently available through Community Action Grants and Leadership programmes to support public health initiatives tackling air pollution in selected countries.
