Last month, Lungs Europe representatives attended the annual meeting of the FRESHAIR4Life project. This is a 3-year implementation science project that is looking at the best ways to prevent the harm caused by tobacco and air pollution in young people.
The overall goal is to reduce long-term lung conditions, such as COPD and asthma. It will test different interventions in 5 countries; Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Pakistan, Romania,
The meeting brought together consortium members to discuss each country partner’s progress:
✅ Kyrgyzstan, Greece, and Pakistan have now entered the implementation phase
✅ Romania and Uganda are finalising their intervention choices.
Participants worked in cross-country, cross–work package groups to explore how the project’s proposed outcomes could translate into real-world impact and to identify which results matter most to different target groups. Final sessions focused on the actions and leadership needed to achieve these outcomes.
