Chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) remain one of Europe’s most pressing public health challenges. The Joint Action on chronic REspiratory Diseases (JARED) is an EU-funded, Europe-wide initiative working to improve the prevention and care of chronic respiratory diseases by helping EU Member States scale up effective approaches.
Building on existing best practices and adapting them to national needs, JARED supports countries to deliver inclusive and sustainable respiratory health solutions, with a particular focus on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

To ensure that the project reflects the needs and experiences of those it aims to serve, JARED has established a Stakeholder Advisory Group. The group brings together people from across the field of lung health to help shape the future of JARED.

Join us at the ERS Congress 2026
A JARED meeting will take place both in person and online via Microsoft Teams during the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress 2026 in Barcelona on Tuesday 8 September 2026 from 12:00 to 13:45 CEST.
The members of the JARED Stakeholder Advisory Group will be invited to attend this meeting and it will be a great opportunity to learn more about the project, meet multiple project stakeholders and contribute to the efforts to shape the future of respiratory health in Europe.
