Visit the EU PAL-COPD websiteLungs Europe is actively engaged in the EU PAL-COPD project consortium. This initiative aims to seamlessly integrate palliative care and respiratory medicine across Europe. The project has secured funding from the European Commission’s Horizon Europe program.
🔍 What’s the goal? The project’s primary objective is to enhance the integration of palliative care into the treatment routines for individuals with advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) across diverse healthcare systems in Europe.
🗓️ Timeline: Coordinated by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the project will run from January 2024 until the end of December 2028. Its overarching vision is to improve the well-being of millions of COPD patients and their families.
🤝 Our vital role: We actively contribute to work package 9, which focuses on stakeholder engagement, communication, dissemination, and exploitation. Specifically, we work on patient involvement to ensure that patient expectations, needs, and requirements are met within WP2. We will establish a Patient Advisory Group to provide input and feedback on patient expectations and requirements before the trial is implemented in various partner countries. Additionally, we will organise a virtual patient conference to raise awareness and present next steps.
