About the awards

To apply for the award, activities had to focus on one or more of the Healthy Lungs for Life campaign aims:

  • Air quality: increase knowledge of the impact of poor air quality on lung health and actions to reduce air pollution exposure.
  • Smoking cessation: highlight the benefits of stopping smoking for lung health.
  • Physical activity: promote the importance of physical activity for maintaining healthy lungs.
  • Vaccination: raise awareness of vaccinations to prevent lung infections.
  • Climate change: educate communities on the impact of climate change on lung health.

Grants were awarded to applications that demonstrated clear objectives, strong community engagement, and the potential for meaningful and measurable impact, particularly among children and young people. ELF recognises that building healthy habits early in life is essential for achieving positive long-term lung health.

We would like to thank FIRSand CADSETfor providing the funding that makes these grants possible, and for their ongoing support of lung health initiatives across Europe.
