Self-management – ELF Patient Organisation Networking Day 2022

Time: 10:30 – 16:00 CEST

Online
31/08/2022

Patient Organisation Networking Day is an annual event that brings together organisations in the ELF Patient Organisation Network to learn about and discuss important topics in respiratory health.

This year’s event was held online and focused on self-management to help patient organisations explore how they can support their patient communities to self-manage their health conditions.

People living with lung conditions manage their health and wellbeing on a day-to-day basis. Supported self-management has been shown to help patients maintain their quality of life alongside a chronic disease. Supporting people with long-term conditions to self-manage their disease is a fundamental part of high-quality care. During the event we considered key questions for patient organisations such as:

  • How can patient organisations play an active role in supporting self-management?
  • How can self-management programmes be tailored to the individual?
  • What are the lessons learned?

Working group

We want to say a special thanks to the working group who helped organise this event! Without them, this event would not have been possible.

Support ELF events

ELF does not charge for its events. It wants to make sure they are available to anybody who wishes to join. To ensure we can keep doing this we ask that those who can afford to pay to consider making a donation. We are grateful to everyone who supports us in this way and helps lung health patients to have their voices heard.
