A European-wide patient survey to explore how chronic cough is managed and the impact is has in Europe was launched in 2012.
It was an Internet based survey which was available from the ELF website. It was available in 12 languages. Over 1800 people responded to the survey.
The survey found that many patients with chronic cough are not diagnosed or are not aware of their diagnosis. There was a large impact of chronic cough on daily life and mood.
The results were published in the European Respiratory Journal.
