Emily was a member of the ELF asthma patient advisory group (PAG) and acted as a patient representative on the Steering Committee for the Severe Heterogenous Asthma Research collaboration, Patient-centered (SHARP) project.
Emily was passionate about improving the lives of those with severe asthma. By sharing her own experiences of living with the disease and of receiving a lung transplant, Emily hoped to highlight the challenges faced by patients and their priorities for new research and treatments. Emily was from Austria and enjoyed connecting with other severe asthma patients across Europe, learning and supporting each other through tough times. We remember her warmth, dedication – often joining calls from her hospital bed – and passion for getting things done.
Emily is greatly missed by everyone at ELF and we continue to advocate around the topics she highlighted, with the hope of improving the lives of others.
