ELF and FIRS award grants for World Lung Day events under Healthy Lungs for Life campaign

ELF and the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) have awarded 10 grants of €1,000 each to organisers of events taking place around this year’s World Lung Day on 25 September 2022.

The events aim to help people in local communities around the world learn more about maintaining good lung health. Each event raises awareness of one or more of the campaign themes: #BreatheCleanAir, #BeSmokeFree, #TakeTheActiveOption, #Vaccinate and #FightClimateChange.

This year’s grant recipients are:

  • Association for the Promotion of Youth Leadership, Advocacy and Volunteerism Cameroon (APYLAV), Cameroon
  • Bayero University Kano, Nigeria
  • Healthy Lungs Nepal, Nepal
  • Respiratory Diseases and Allergy Organization, Ghana
  • Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS-UK), United Kingdom
  • Helping Hands Foundation, Pakistan
  • Fikr -e- Farda Welfare organization (FFWO), Pakistan
  • Respiratory Physiology Laboratory, Medical School, University of Cyprus, Cyprus
  • Semnan University, Iran
  • Vishesh Jupiter Hospital, India
