ELF patient representatives ask the experts questions after the ERS Congress

Before the Virtual European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress 2020, we asked patient representatives which sessions they thought sounded most interesting and useful. Patient representatives then attended those sessions and thought about what questions they would like to ask the speakers. We invited the speakers and patient representatives to a ‘question and answer’ session on their specialised subjects. We now have three sessions available to watch.

Digital Health

In this session, patient representative Rita Barriuso from Asociación de Enfermos de Sarcoidosis in Spain asks questions to:

  • Consultant Respiratory Physician Dr Omar Usmani, and
  • Patient representative Dominique Hamerlijnck,

about their presentations in the symposium ‘Digital Health: A Brave New World’.

Physiotherapy

In this session, Janette Rawlinson from the ELF Lung Cancer Patient Advisory Group asks questions to Dr Arietta Spinou, a respiratory physiotherapist and lecturer in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy from Kings College London, about her presentation ‘Physiotherapy in Chronic Respiratory Infections’.

Psychological wellbeing

  • Ron Flewett, who has idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and represents the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust in the UK, and

on their presentations in the symposium ‘Fear and Anxiety, Psychological Wellbeing, and Prevention of Psychological Distress in Chronic Lung Diseases’.
