World Tuberculosis Day 2023: What is on the agenda

World TB Day is held annually on 24 March. On this day the health community directs efforts into raising awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and calling for solutions to stop the disease.

World TB Day 2023 — Theme

World TB Day raises awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and calls for more efforts to prevent TB. For 2023 the World Health Organization has set the theme: “Yes! We can end TB!”

In line with WHO Call for Action for this World TB Day, ELF encourages you to:

  • Educate yourself on TB causes, symptoms, and prevention.
  • Get tested if you think you are affected with TB, get treated and follow the advice of your healthcare provider.
  • Check the source of your TB information and ensure it is evidence-based.
  • Stand up against TB stigma and discrimination!

We invite you to visit ELF Information Hub with dedicated resources on TB.

UNITE4TB Project

UNITE4TB is an EU-funded project, with ELF representation, that aims to set a new standard for the development of anti-TB medication.

To mark this year’s World TB Day, they are partnering with ERA4TB to organise a webinar on the topic of community involvement and engagement in early-stage tuberculosis (TB) research. UNITE4TB CAG member, Blessi Kumar, will be one of the panellists in this upcoming ERA4TB-UNITE4TB webinar on 23 March. ELF is proud to support the UNITE4TB CAG during this important project. We will be sharing more of our resources on our social media channels around the day.
