European Respiratory Society

ERS founded ELF in 2000 and provides core funding for ELF activities.

Founded in 1990, ERS is a not-for-profit, international medical organisation with over 10,000 members from 100 countries. It is the biggest society in Europe in its field.

ERS seeks to alleviate suffering from respiratory disease and promote lung health through research, sharing of knowledge and through medical and public education.

The University of Barcelona generously provided funding for ELF to run their Healthy Lungs for Life public event in Barcelona in 2022. This allowed ELF to reach thousands of people to bring awareness to the importance of good lung health, and to offer free spirometry to 260 members of the general public.

Lung Foundation Australia has commissioned ELF to adapt their occupational health tool to be suitable for Australian citizens.
