ERS founded ELF in 2000 and provides core funding for ELF activities.

Founded in 1990, ERS is a not-for-profit, international medical organisation with over 10,000 members from 100 countries. It is the biggest society in Europe in its field.

ERS seeks to alleviate suffering from respiratory disease and promote lung health through research, sharing of knowledge and through medical and public education.

The Health and Safety Executive has provided funding to ELF for a survey to better understand the level of employee confidence of COVID-19 safety measures in the work place across the Europe. The survey specifically focusses on those individuals with a lung condition.
