ERS Congress 2026 community space

In the World Village community space at ERS Congress 2026, ELF’s display area, “United for better breathing: patient-professional partnership in action”, showcases resources, projects and networks that support collaboration between patients, healthcare professionals and researchers. The displays featured below highlight the many ways patient voices are helping to shape lung health, research and advocacy.

The European Respiratory Society’s annual Congress (ERS Congress 2026) takes place in Barcelona, Spain, from 5 to 9 September. Reflecting this year’s theme, “United for better breathing: partnership between patients, clinicians and researchers”, the Congress includes patient involvement in around 90 sessions.

ELF’s display in the community space, an informal networking area for patient representatives and professionals, demonstrates how these partnerships are helping to improve lung health through trusted information, support networks, patient-led initiatives and opportunities for collaboration.

Global Voices 2026

Global Voices is ELF’s annual campaign celebrating patient voices and their contribution to improving respiratory health. In 2026, the campaign highlights practical resources, trusted information and opportunities for connection that help people affected by lung conditions feel informed, supported and empowered.

Mental Health First Aid Kit

Supporting emotional wellbeing alongside physical health. The Mental Health First Aid Kit provides practical resources, guidance and self-care tools to help people living with lung conditions manage the psychological impact of their disease.
Occupational tool

Supporting conversations about work and lung health. This practical tool helps people understand workplace challenges, identify support needs and access information that can help them remain active and engaged in employment.
ELF Connect

A new, trusted online community bringing together patients, healthcare professionals and experts. Access reliable information, learn from lived experiences and connect through meaningful conversations, with bronchiectasis leading the way and more disease communities coming soon.
Lay guidelines

Transforming complex clinical recommendations into clear, accessible information. Explore 17 evidence-based lay guidelines that help patients understand their diagnosis, treatment and care decisions, supporting meaningful discussions with healthcare professionals.
Patient guides

Written by patients for patients, with expert clinical support, these guides help people better understand and manage their condition with confidence. Resources are currently available for bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis and COPD, with more guides planned in the future.
