Digital health and artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping healthcare. This free online event will bring together patients, the public, healthcare professionals and other experts to explore how digital and AI tools can improve respiratory and cancer care. Invited speakers will also discuss concerns people have about issues including trust, data protection, fairness and access.
Join us on 5 March 13:00 – 16:30 CET for an online conference exploring the use of digital health tools and artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare.
Digital health tools and artificial intelligence (AI) are rapidly transforming how respiratory diseases and cancer are prevented, diagnosed and managed. Technologies such as mobile health apps, digital inhalers and AI-supported clinical decision-making offer exciting opportunities to personalise care and improve outcomes.
However, these innovations also raise important questions for patients and the public:
This free online event will explore these questions within respiratory health. The agenda will also highlight cancer care as a leading example of advanced AI implementation, drawing lessons with wider relevance across healthcare.
In 2025, ELF developed a collaboration plan with the ERS Digital Clinical Research Collaboration (CRC) CONNECT to strengthen patient and public engagement on digital health and AI. As part of this collaboration, ELF launched an AI and Digital Health Survey to capture public and patient perspectives on the use of digital and AI-enabled tools in healthcare.
This conference represents the next step in this work and will bring together lived experiences alongside expert presentations on digital and AI-enabled innovations in respiratory care, including applications in asthma and COPD, as well as featuring insights from the OPTIMA and SPARC projects.
More information about the agenda and speakers will be available soon.
ELF does not charge for its events and materials. We want to make sure they are available to anybody who wishes to join or use them. To ensure we can keep doing this we ask that those who can afford to pay to make a donation. We are grateful to everyone who supports us in this way and helps lung health patients to understand more about their condition and have their voices heard.
