The ERS Congress is an annual conference. It brings together the world’s respiratory experts to present and discuss the latest scientific and clinical advances across the entire field of respiratory medicine.
For more information about the ERS Congress programme, visit the ERS Congress website.
Each year, the European Lung Foundation (ELF) organises events at the Congress to help patients and their organisations get involved. The full schedule of ELF events will be shared on our website once confirmed.
The European Lung Foundation (ELF) is committed to ensuring that patient organisations and patient representatives have the opportunity to attend the ERS Congress and contribute their valuable expertise to the programme. We are delighted to once again welcome patient representatives from a wide range of countries, organisations and lung conditions.
To make the Congress more affordable and accessible, ERS and ELF offer a special registration category with reduced fees for patient organisations and their representatives. This is especially helpful for organisations bringing multiple members.
If you are a member of an ELF Patient Advisory Committee (PAC) or a Patient Advisory Group (PAG), you will receive extra benefits.
The discounted registration rate is available to patients, carers, paid staff and volunteers who work with a respiratory patient organisation. The organisation must be part of the ELF Patient Organisation Network, which is free to join. New patient organisations can easily join the network here.
There are two main options for patient representatives:
ELF offers a limited number of travel bursaries to support patient organisations with the costs of travel and accommodation to attend the Patient Organisation Networking Day or the full Congress in person in Amsterdam, Netherlands. No bursaries are available for those attending the Congress online.
Applications for bursaries open in April.
All patient representatives, PAG and PAC members wishing to attend the Congress should complete our application form. We will contact you about the next steps in your registration. If you have any questions about your application, please contact us.
The ELF Patient Organisation Networking Day is an opportunity for members of the ELF Patient Organisation Network to collaborate, share experiences and discuss important topics in lung health. To learn more about this annual event you can revisit last year’s discussions through the event recordings or report below.
The 2025 event will take place on Saturday 27 September. This will be a hybrid event, allowing participants to join in person or online. More details on the theme and agenda will be announced soon.
