Patient organisations: Help improve healthcare research

Get involved in a project funded by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) and have your say in future healthcare research.

The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) is calling for research proposals to tackle some of the current challenges in healthcare and improve treatments for patients. For new therapies to help patients in the future, it is important that people living with health conditions have the opportunity to input into these projects.

By getting involved in an IHI-funded project, patient organisations can work alongside professionals to ensure patients’ experiences are heard, leading to better support for patients around the world.

How can patient representatives get involved?

Several funding opportunities are now open for research proposals aimed at addressing current healthcare challenges and enhancing the quality of life for patients. Please note that research proposals must align with the specific objectives of the IHI, and you can learn more about these here.

Patient organisations can:

  • Work with academic and industry experts to identify unmet needs and find innovative ways to address them.
  • Advise on research questions and study design to ensure that research reflects what matters most to patients.

If your organisation is passionate about improving healthcare and contributing to innovative research, use the IHI brokerage platform to connect with experts and find project partners.

By working together, we can ensure that patients are actively involved in research, helping to shape the care they need and make sure it is available when they need it.
