Being physically active offers huge health benefits, but sometimes we find it hard to fit enough movement into our daily lives. This is why ELF has launched Take the Active Option (TTAO) as a part of the Healthy Lung for Life (HLfL) campaign. By taking part in TTAO in your workplace, you can encourage your team to sign up and make time to find what activity works for them.
This could be choosing to walk or cycle to work, heading out for a lunchtime walk as a group, or running 10k at the weekend. The extra movement can have a positive impact on everyone’s health and is also a fun way of getting to know your employees.

There are many factors that can have an effect on lung health and disease. We should all try to understand more about these factors and what actions we can take to keep our lungs healthy.
We all have lungs, and we all need to breathe, but still lung health and lung disease is often under-recognised. The European Respiratory Society (ERS) and European Lung Foundation (ELF) wanted to develop a positive campaign for people to think about their lungs and keeping lungs healthy. We are very excited to bring Take the Active Option to businesses and organisations to join our mission towards better lung health.
As a part of our service to you, the ELF team will provide you with our ‘Healthy Lungs for Life’ digital materials which you can use within your workplace to promote good lung health. This will include information on stopping smoking, air pollution, vaccination, climate change and physical activity (available in many languages.)
