Healthy Lungs for Life grants 2026

The Healthy Lungs for Life (HLfL) campaign has been promoting lung health globally for more than a decade. Building on this work, the HLfL grants programme was launched to support community-led initiatives, funding projects that bring key lung health messages to life. Past grant winners have helped us demonstrate how even small grants can make a real impact, through school education campaigns, environmental initiatives, vaccination drives and health screenings.

Stories from previous winners

From Nepal to Nigeria, Italy to India, past HLfL grants have helped communities promote lung health, improve air quality, and encourage healthy lifestyles. You can explore their inspiring work in our grant report.

New for 2026

This year, thanks to funding from the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) and the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Clinical Research Collaboration CADSET, we are offering two types of grants:

  • Impact grants: up to €1,000 for new projects
  • Enhanced Impact Grants: €5,000 for organisations that have previously received a HLfL grant and successfully delivered impactful activities
  • The enhanced grants are designed to help proven initiatives expand, scale, or deepen their work, reaching wider audiences and achieving greater long-term impact.

Calling first-time applicants

We especially encourage applications from countries that have not yet received a Healthy Lungs for Life grant, giving new communities the opportunity to benefit from this funding and make a positive impact locally.
