What can ERN-LUNG offer for the future?

09:30-11:30 CEST

This session will explore the future of ERN-LUNG, the European network for rare respiratory diseases. Speakers will present new projects, including plans for an ERN-LUNG Academy to support education and training, improvements to how doctors across Europe collaborate on patient care, and how artificial intelligence (AI) can help diagnose and treat rare diseases. Co-chaired by Pippa Powell, Director of the European Lung Foundation, it will provide insights into how ERN-LUNG is working to enhance care for people with rare lung conditions. As patients are at the heart of ERN-LUNG this session is key to join from a patient perspective.

09:30-11:00 CEST

Focusing on the importance of working directly with patients, this session will explore how clinical and research innovations can meet patient needs. Attendees will discover strategies for involving patients and carers, from consultation to co-design, and learn how to capture their perspectives effectively. Real-life examples, such as co-designing balance training for COPD patients and adapting interventions to local contexts, will illustrate inclusive approaches to patient involvement. Patients will present and be involved in the panel discussion. Come and join the debate.
