Home » Healthy Lungs for Life in São Carlos
On 21 November 2023, the “Healthy Lungs for Life” initiative took place at the University Hospital in São Carlos, raising awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and engaging the local community. With support from the European Lung Foundation (ELF), the event provided free lung health screenings, spirometry tests and educational resources to 82 participants. The initiative was made possible through collaboration with universities, healthcare professionals and students. It highlighted the importance of early detection and public health advocacy in a middle-income setting.
