Healthy Lungs for Life is excited to announce its new partnership with Longfonds in the Netherlands for the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress 2025.
As a global campaign, Healthy Lungs for Life raises awareness about the importance of lung health through a range of events, projects and activities. Celebrating over 10 years of success, the initiative has grown from public spirometry events at the ERS Congress to city-level campaigns, advocacy efforts and the launch of a dedicated school programme, which has already been piloted in Barcelona, Milan and Vienna.
The Healthy Lungs for Life for Schools project aims to educate young people about lung health and encourage habits that protect their lungs throughout life. Early interventions are key, as behaviours established in childhood can have a lasting impact on lung health in later years.
We are excited to partner with Longfonds (Lung Foundation Netherlands), a local leader in lung health initiatives, to bring the Healthy Lungs for Life campaign in the Netherlands in 2025. Longfonds has already successfully piloted a Snifferbike Junior programme with 7th-grade students in the Netherlands, teaching children about air quality and pollution through hands-on learning with bikes equipped with sensors. By combining our efforts, we can build on their existing work and hit the ground running, amplifying the impact of both programmes.
Together, we share a common goal to improve lung health for all. This partnership offers a unique opportunity to expand our educational efforts, raise awareness and inspire positive change on a larger scale.
We are pleased to offer the following Healthy Lungs for Life educational packages, tailored to meet the needs of different schools:
