The European Lung Foundation (ELF) offers grants to support organisers of lung health awareness events that align with one or more of the Healthy Lungs for Life campaign themes.
The Healthy Lungs for Life campaign raises awareness of the importance of lung health across the life course, empowers individuals and communities to take action to protect their lungs and influences policy and practice to reduce the global burden of lung disease.
The campaign focuses on prevention, early intervention and education to help ensure healthier lungs for everyone.
We are particularly committed to supporting projects aimed at children and young people, recognising that building healthy habits early in life is essential for achieving positive long-term lung health outcomes.
In 2026, two types of grants will be on offer:
Not-for-profit organisations, patient groups and healthcare professionals can apply for a grant of up to €1,000 to support events and activities that promote lung health through Healthy Lungs for Life activities.
We are introducing three €5,000 grants for organisations that have previously received a Healthy Lungs for Life grant and successfully delivered impactful activities.
These larger grants are designed to support the expansion, scaling or deepening of proven initiatives, enabling recipients to reach wider audiences and achieve greater long-term impact.
